Round & Circular Area Rugs

First, it started with beach towels - "ROUND beach towels, you say?!...That's crazy talk!" Then the trend crept into the interior decor sector and has stuck around for a couple of years - which I totally approve of. In general - I love circular lines in decor and interior design; from arches to bay windows, to plates, placemats, tables, pillows and noooow rugs! I think the lines are pleasing to the eye because circular patterns occur frequently in nature as opposed to squares or rectangles.

Take a looksie at some of my favorite round (circular) rugs.

This modern one from Cloudinary has easy neutral tones and the lines compliment the shape. It's modern but not obnoxiously so.

Etsy is an amazing source of macrame, knit, woven and spun handmade rugs in all colors and textures. This one isn't totally round but I think that makes it better with scalloped edges.

Ikea actually has a decently artistic abstract round rug that goes beyond their usual mainstream bright and chunky patterns.

This CB2 round rug is whimsically boho / tribal-esque without being overrun with arrows, cattle skulls and feathers (thank goodness).

Next on my short list is this ombre ocean blue "Baltic" round rug by Contemporary Rugs, that has delightfully messy blending and blotchy streams of a bright but elegant color.

Last but not least on the short list is this natural jute rug for rustic, coastal or boho spaces. The pattern gives some awesome interest and texture to the undyed and raw fibers.
